Aaron's weekly dispatch
Soundcheck is a little late this week, sorry. I've spent the day helping my mother-in-law with a bit of a house clear-out, so it's been dump runs and dismantling bits and pieces rather than sitting at the laptop.
It's been a lovely week off. I've been to Center Parcs with my family and some family friends, and even bumped into a few good friends down there, so it was a week of forest walks and racing rapids. The week off has meant that everything else I've been doing has pretty much ground to a halt, which I think was the point.
After arriving back I had my gig at Marney's Village Inn in Esher last night, and that was a really lovely gig. I'm already looking forward to playing there again on the 23rd of December.
Tonight I'm heading to The Sovereigns in Woking to host the open mic night, which of course is one of the highlights of my month. I've made some great friends at The Sovereigns, so even though it's an intense evening getting the gear set up and making sure the night runs smoothly, it very much feels as though I'm spending a night amongst friends, sharing one particular common interest with one another.
So this week I'm looking forward to getting straight back into finalising the latest iteration of LiftShot, and hopefully launching a campaign for fave.rocks to really drum up some awareness and get some people to sign up and be a part of the site. The infrastructure is there and everything is working, and as time goes by more features will be added to the free and the paid plans. I'm also looking forward to getting the integrations with LiftShot and Poster Poster up and running, because that's what will really transform a musician's ability to advertise gigs and have a consistent, high-quality flow of social media content supporting the gigs they do. I guess these things will come to light more as the site grows in popularity and people start really engaging with it and leaning into it to help support their career.
