Aaron's weekly dispatch
By the time this email gets to you on Sunday night, work on fave.rocks will only have been going for a week and a half.
I'm really delighted with how well it's all going, and excited for the future of the website. As each day goes by I try and implement new things as they come to mind, and it's been really exciting to see it come together. Thank you to the people that have already signed up.
I can see the true potential of it being the go-to website for, at first, anyone in the UK that's a fan, an artist, a venue, or that holds events.
I guess it's essentially a listings platform, where you can find out what's going on based on location. Fans that are looking for artists to play at their events can easily find artists too.
Everything I'm talking about here is on the free side of fave.rocks, and that's where all of my attention is going for now.
Even at this early stage we've onboarded artists using their public data from advertised gigs, so even if an artist hasn't claimed a page, they're listed on the website, and you can dig a little deeper and find them on socials. The more that people do this, the more artists will sign up and provide better, clarifying information on their profiles, making it easy for people to see what they're all about before they get in touch.
If you want to try it, the simplest thing is to find my page and hit the heart. You'll get one email on a Monday with everywhere I'm playing that week and what else is on near you. And next time you're at one of my gigs, scan the code by the mic and you can see my song list and request something from your phone.
One of the biggest things I've found over the years is that I often get asked if I can recommend any artists, and it's always tricky, because I know and see many artists. So rather than leave it to my judgement as to who I should recommend, the website can do a lot of the heavy lifting in that regard.
I have future plans for the website, and as I implement things the website grows in complexity. Right now, at this early stage, it's really about making it as simple as possible for everybody to get connected.

Now, onto the gigs…
This Week
Gigs this week have been great, and I've had a lot going on.
On Wednesday it was the open mic at Windsor & Eton Brewery in Windsor, and on Friday I was at The Maypole in Surbiton.
On Saturday I had two gigs, and one of them isn't in the diary actually. That was an engagement party during the day, where I played acoustic outside, and thankfully the weather held out.
Ashtead Village Club in Ashtead on Saturday night was really good fun, with lots of people up dancing and having a good time. The usual. 😂
And as I write this, I'm off to The Windsor Trooper in Windsor, where I'm always guaranteed a great turnout and great engagement from the audience.
